Training for Riccall Carers StaffExperienced, qualified care workers in York and SelbyYou and your families can relax safe in the knowledge that on choosing Riccall Carers you have selected the highest possible standards of care in the York and Selby area. We ensure that the quality of our care support workers and the service that they provide is the best it can be by investing heavily in training. Our dedicated Training Manager, Leonnie Martin, organises a comprehensive training package which includes all mandatory training required by the Commission for Social Care Inspection along with other relevant additional training. Care workers you can trust and rely onEach new care worker that comes to work with us is checked against the Criminal Record Bureau to ensure they are able to work in a position of trust. We also obtain two relevant references to verify that they have the appropriate personal character. Our new care workers then undertake a wide variety of training on moving and handling, first aid, infection control, the protection of vulnerable adults, health and safety, food hygiene, and fire safety and prevention. Time is also spent shadowing experienced care workers in real life care situations. They are also assessed by co-ordinators, have annual appraisals, regular supervision and are fully supported in their work and professional development by our management team. Once the initial training is complete, Riccall Carers offer all care workers the opportunity to undertake additional training so that they can increase their knowledge of caring for specific conditions and in specific situations. These conditions include Dementia, Parkinsons Disease, Multiple Sclerosis and Learning Difficulties. We encourage all staff to complete a minimum of two training courses relating to dementia.
We consistently promote additional training in dementia related subjects, and have an active role on the Learning Network Group looking at dementia care, promoting the networking of best practices and organising training events. Dementia training is not required as a standard, but we feel it is in integral part of understanding and caring for the clients who are living with the experience of Dementia. Christine Handy, our Registered Manager has successfully completed her management qualifications, and has attended a wealth of courses to increase her knowledge base and ensure she is up to date with all relevant information and best practice recommendations. |
Leonnie Martin "Training is crucial to providing the best service we can for you. We are constantly providing training opportunities for all our care workers and pride ourselves on keeping at the forefront of all care related procedures. " |
